Green smoothies are saving my life!
I feel it in my cells.
Once upon a time when I lived in Hawaii I was raw for a year.
I felt clear Spirit consciousness, healthy, and fantastic.
Now I live in SF and many not very raw years later I found Green Smoothies ( from here on referred to as GS's ).
For a year I had 1 quart a day with a month where I had 2-4 quarts daily.
Then I went off of them for 6 months and felt a huge loss in health!!!
So, now I'm back on 2 a day for the last 30 days.
I felt like my bowels were really weak at first and everything just went right through.
Which is fine because I needed some cleaning out.
Now things are moving a bit more slowly and I feel as though my digestion is strengthening.
I would like to do a GS fast for somewhere between 7 and 30 days. But, I'll wait until spring or summer so I have more fruit varieties to choose from.
I make them pretty heavy on the greens about 60-40 greens to fruit. And, I almost always add a piece of ginger.
I have a Vitamix and it's one of the best purchases of my life.
GS's is a way for me to feel some of the benefits of a raw food diet without being completely raw.
I'm real happy to find this forum and look forward to reading more.
